I had two guys that I went to for specific things and knew a whole load more across the world (i'm sure some of you might have heard of the shroomery and erowid and have an idea of how many scientist level growers have posted at those places).

One of them grew high grade Indicas and that is all he grew. All organic, smallish level grows (like two rooms of a house, maybe 8-10 trees per room), also invested in a lot of solar panels before it was really a thing and top end filtration to nerf the smell problem. AFAIK he still operates. What he grew was next level and he was a master grower. Did you pay a little more for it, yes. But it hit much nicer than the street corner dealer stuff that was some generic bulk grown crap that maybe tasted of blueberry or diesel.

The other guy was the same but he only grew Sativas, mainly landrace, sourced from a shop in Holland (and he showed me he would bulk order say 500 seeds from a single strain and grow that strain only for the next 2-3 years). Never grew anything else and his stuff was top level day strain, but pretty easy to whitey on. Same for pricing with him. But it was cream of the crop stuff and worth paying a little more for.

Both of them were never short of business, but they literally only sold to the same people. Never opened up any new clients. So they never had any hassle and to be honest there were a couple of cops buying stuff from one of them, so i think they had some prior knowledge if anything were to go down. But they both didn't sell to anyone under 25 and were clear about that stuff. Growers with morals, that sold only to certain people, but both were also supplying the local early medical scene, getting stuff to the guys that would distribute it to cancer patients and people with bad epilepsy.

Do we romanticise it? Hell yeah. I knew a lot of people who grew not to make money but to refine an art. Sure money bought more seeds and supplies, but these guys were grafting stock, refining the genetics, creating new strains that weren't diluted as much as they are nowadays, just staying within 2-3 Hybrid generations of the original landrace strains, so the original genetics weren't being overly diluted. The fact that people wanted to buy these strains was almost the icing on the cake, but it wasn't the cake or the making of the cake, which was what they enjoyed.

MC is shite in comparison to that stuff. it's just a mix of ultra diluted genetics. is it any better than the Mexican ditch weed my friend talks about, maybe, but not by much. I find strains developed within maybe 2-3 generations of original landrace strains to be far superior in effect. Growers need to stop chasing high THC and concentrate more on refining terpene profiles and not mixing Indica and Sativa strains together. Keep them separate. Hybridisation makes things messy and the practical effects suffer. If you ever wanted proof of that, you could compare the often talked about Delahaze from 15 months back that many people rave about. Nothing on the market currently compares to that. I've had a couple of Sativa Hybrids and they (honestly) are no where near that stuff. What we need are some purer none mixed strains in the MC arena and less of this diluted crap. Growers should serve the clients and treat this not as ways to shill them out of money but to service their medical needs with top quality products. Less about money, more about medical.

You're not wrong, they probably do account for maybe 2%, possibly even less. They are super hard to find and cultivate a relationship with, or at least they always were for me. I found my contacts through friends of friends online, not through talking to people at ground level. I also had contacts for several people who fell in the 98% bracket. But one group produced good product and one produced cheap product. Sometimes you just want to get high and don't care if it's top shelf stuff.

My man used to have 3 or 4 huge plastic bags of buds that was always a mystery beyond being green and getting you stoned. He got it from dodgy contacts in liverpool along with some okish resin. I seriously doubt that any of it was craft grown with care.

There are some seriously wealthy families around here from all over the world, people with private jets and diplomatic immunity would bring them the finest hashishes, occasionally it would be available in the pubs around town and filter down to our little group.
Apart from that it's been mainly shite except a few trips to Holland for a blow out.

My man used to have 3 or 4 huge plastic bags of buds that was always a mystery beyond being green and getting you stoned. He got it from dodgy contacts in liverpool along with some okish resin. I seriously doubt that any of it was craft grown with care.

Look at least it was green, sometimes we only got yellowish-brownish stuff lol
