Where do i start?

I've been lurking since starting my MC journey started back in May 26. I have tinnitus / insomnia, it went off the charts in April from a chest infection. I'm not proud to say it but i was using alcohol to sleep. The negatives of alcohol were starting to effect day to day hence the exploration of MC once i learnt it was legal this year.

I run my own business which is non stop and the tinnitus sent me over the edge to full on burnout. I'm 108 days alcohol free but it appears the alcohol was masking the undiagnosed ADHD. I had an assessment last week and now formally diagnosed with inattentive ADHD @ 47 and likely to start meds this week.

It's quite a ride in one's own mind replaying the last 40+ years of interactions and i know i should stop but yeah quite hard at the moment. I suppose i'm sharing this as no doubt people on here may have gone through similar and i'm keen to learn (no hyperfocusing this time) and listen to anyone's thoughts good or bad on medication for iADHD.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Welcome to the Community CactusRB and thanks for sharing a little about yourself. There's a few of us on MedBud who suffer with Tinnitus, especially me. I use to use alcohol for this condition, it did help temporarily but found i was drinking everyday to cope with this. Unfortunately I haven't found anything that helps, Cannabis can a little but not much but it can help distract me from it at times. Hope you settle in here, its a great community and full of everything regarding Medical Cannabis, i'm a bit pushed for time today but hope to catch up with you soon 👍

Hello mate

CactusRB

That was a pretty good start, if you ask me...I am similar with a diagnosis at 51. Explains lots, but just adds more traffic to the confusion on the already pre-existing mental mickey roundabout.
