Anyone care to share the most flower they’ve travelled with?

I’m going to Spain for 28 days. Online the guidance for Spain is that you’re allowed up to 3 months supply. You need your original script and a travel letter. The usual.

I have a high limit and as mentioned, going away for the month. Why do I feel like 70g of flower (Less than half my 28 day limit) and 5 carts is gonna get me shat on at Gatwick security?

I’m sure the guys working there have come across patients with their medication and don’t bat an eye. Not what they’re looking for but still - my backpack is gonna look like it has a dispensary inside!! 🤣

My first time ever travelling with it - let alone this amount. Am I just being paranoid?

If we follow the guidelines on Spain, I could technically bring 3 months medication, that would be like 450g of flower and like 15 carts!! Surely at the airport they’d think I’m distributing?

First up, don't worry. I've had one problem in about 40 trips around Europe and Spain. And that was on the Spanish side, trying to use my meds in a smoking area.

You're only allowed to carry 3-weeks supply of medical cannabis through Spain. 3 months of other controlled drugs.

Your travel letter will state your dosage which will need to match the travel permits so it's hard to lie about unless the clinic are willing to fluff your travel letter a little.

Security don't care about drugs, they care about bombs mate. They only thing that will make them look twice is your grinder. Aside from that they won't even ask for documentation.

Be warned though, you are applying for permits to carry your medication across borders. The same Spanish laws that apply for recreational apply for medical. So that means no public consumption in any settings, doesn't matter that it's a medicine in the UK, in Spain it is not.

You'll need to be in a private establishment or a social club to completely avoid breaking the law and dealing with the police. I know this from experience.

Truthfully If you stay well out the way of people you shouldn't have problem, don't go sparking up on residential balconies. That's the fastest way to get the police knocking on your door when the neighbours complain, and trust me they will complain if you're in a built up apartment area.

I usually take around 50g and a few carts spending on where, why and how long I'm visiting for.

If you don't have permits, you won't have an issue getting out but I wouldn't try to bring the flower back. At best it'll get confiscated, if they come across it without the permits.

Just be super respectful of the locals and you'll have no problems whatsoever.

Thanks for the reply!

Have put me at ease somewhat.

My only fear is the UK side of things. I’m travelling with the family and just don’t want any hassle. If I was travelling with 10-20g I wouldn’t have even posted - it’s just the 70g (well within limits whether that’s 3 weeks or 3 months).

Spain side - I’m fortunate my mother owns a place in Marbella. Has a large terrace (500sqft +) but unfortunately the rest of the apartment buildings’ balconies are above my terrace. Smoke rises. They all get the sweet sweet aroma. 10+ years now. I guess it’s too hot to be on balconies, people usually keep doors closed and ACs on.

So yeah, no worries Spain side. Consuming flower in public isn’t something I do anymore. I’m bringing carts for that. Trying to be somewhat considerate and respectful. Spanish local police and especially the Guardia Civil do not play. Brutal.

Sounds like a dream that does mate!

I'm actively searching for property in Majorca/Menorca myself.

You'll have no issues in the UK, you could take an insane amount and they won't give a shit. In fairness the security are very well trained about MC compared to the police, etc.

I often use my meds in Gatwick, they're very aware and very supportive of MC.

Your grinder will flag things, so if you get pulled aside it'll just be because of that. And if you have an inexperienced staff member they'll just confer with management, see your scripts + ID, then wave you on your way.

I've never ever had an issue flying out of the UK, especially at Gatwick (and Birmingham and EMA). I travel a little for work and personally so I'm hoping my experiences are a good yard stick for all.

Where can I use my meds at Gatwick?

With regards to Grinder flagging - don't want that at all. I don't want my backpack stopped ideally.
I'll be putting my grinder (bought a new one for this trip) in the checked in bags. Could also buy one out there.

My next concern is my Tempest 2 bundle. Which parts will potentially flag security?

The Tempest 2 + It's case
The Reload
The YLL 3.0 IH

Maybe put them all in the checked-in luggage except the YLL because of it's batteries? I'll put that in the backpack.

It's the teeth that tend to flag things.

I just get mine out the bag and put it in the tray, that tends to deal with it.

There's no fixed room, but If you go to assisted travel, explain you take CBPM medication and you'd like a quiet, private space to use it then they will either let you access a private room to wait in until you board or they'll give you private access to the assisted travel waiting rooms.

Might be worth explaining it can have a bit of a smell as a heads up but its largely irrelevant.

I forget all the names but it's commonly known as a nightingale room across a few airports.

None of your tempest stuff will flag. I thought the reload might but I ve had no issues on the 4 airports I've taken it through.

If you're taking spare batteries, make sure they've got a proper case and they're not just loosely rattling around.
