High Temperature Warning – Stay Safe & Hydrated!

Hello everyone,
Today is going to be a very hot day, so this is a reminder to look after yourself and be mindful. Many in our community are managing severe chronic conditions, and extreme heat can significantly exacerbate symptoms, alter medication efficacy, or cause extra physical stress.
Please take a moment to review these essential safety reminders:

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids (water or electrolytes) throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

Protect Your Medication: High temperatures can degrade cannabinoids and terpenes, reducing the effectiveness of your medical cannabis. Keep your flower, oils, and cartridges stored in a cool, dark, and dry place (ideally below 25°C). Avoid leaving your medication in hot cars or direct sunlight.

Stay Cool: Keep blinds closed during the hottest parts of the day, use fans, and try to avoid strenuous activity. If you must go outside, seek shade and wear loose, lightweight clothing.

Look After Each Other: Check in on your fellow community members, friends, or neighbors who might be vulnerable or isolated right now. A quick text can make a massive difference.

A Note on Consumption: Heat can naturally lower your blood pressure or make you feel dizzy. If you are vaping or consuming your prescribed medical cannabis, please be mindful that the heat might amplify these effects. Take things slower than usual and listen to your body.
If you begin to feel unwell, experience severe dizziness, headaches, or heat exhaustion, please seek medical attention immediately.
Stay safe, stay cool, and look out for one another!
