The clinic provides mental health assessments for people interested in a trial of a Cannabis-Based Medicinal Product (CBMP).

Cannabis Clinic Cardiff (CCC) is a patient-centred, clinician-led Private Medical Clinic.

Patients can self-refer to the clinic for a FREE eligibility assessment. An initial appointment with a Specialist Consultant will follow, assessing symptoms and medical history to determine your suitability for having a trial of a CBMP.

There is no guarantee that an initial appointment will result in a prescription of a CBMP and any prescribed product will be determined as appropriate following discussion with the prescriber.

At present, CBMPs can only be prescribed for a limited range of conditions and for patients who meet minimum eligibility criteria.

If you are unsure if this applies to your situation, please get in touch and we can answer any questions you have.

I'm curious to the My Dispensary set up and am currently joining the MYPAS scheme but am hopeful that'll be a quick turnaround too but as ever we'll see🤞
When Ive used My Dispensary as a pharmacy the formulary wasn’t the largest, but I found the pricing to be reasonable and the My Dispensary app was really easy to use when placing orders and tracking prescriptions. It has a great MYPAS integration too. I’ve attached a few screenshots below to give you an idea of what the app looks like and how it works 😊 📸

Thanks for that 👌
I was planning to look at the formulary and request it through the Cannabis Clinic Cardiff portal with My Dispensary as my preferred pharmacy once I have confirmation of qualifying for the 18% discount as some meds really stand out at the prices they are🤞

No problem 👌

I’ve previously been with a clinic that used My Dispensary as its default pharmacy. At the time, there was definitely an 18% discount on selected medications for patients who were eligible for MYPAS. It was a fantastic scheme, and if that discount is still available for CCC patients as well, that would be amazing🤞🤩 🔥🔥🔥

Anyone mind giving some insight on the onboarding process?

Having been with 3 different clinics - 2 were a breeze and one an absolute nightmare with the onboarding.
It all comes down to the “log in via NHS app” option when sharing/uploading Medical Records.

Medicann and Releaf gave me this option and I didn’t need to do a thing which I loved. Alternaleaf requested a summary of care record from my GP. My particular GP is useless and making things super difficult in obtaining my SCR. I sent screenshots from my NHS app to Alternaleaf which they didn’t accept but after a lengthy (almost 2-3 weeks) process of going back and forth with them - they finally onboarded me.

Does Cannabis Clinic Cardiff give you the option to upload/provide medical records via the “NHS login” or do you have to send the team a physical albeit digital SCR?

Just trying to plan ahead 👍🏻

The NHS login wasn’t available as an option when I joined. After completing the free eligibility assessment, I paid the £250 for the initial assessment and had to provide a copy of my Summary Care Record (SCR) before progressing with the onboarding process.

1. Free Eligibility Assessment
The first step is completing a free eligibility assessment. You’ll need to provide your Summary Care Record (SCR) or other suitable medical evidence showing your diagnosis and previous treatments before you can book an appointment.
https://www.cannabiscliniccardiff.co.uk/

2. Initial Consultation
I was then invited to book my initial consultation (which lasted around 55–60 minutes) with Dr Dave. He then covered my medical history, previous treatments, current symptoms, treatment goals, and any previous cannabis use. I found it to be thorough and never felt rushed. I found everything I needed here ➡️
https://www.cannabiscliniccardiff.co.uk/monitoring

3. Clinical Approval
Following your consultation, your case is reviewed by a second specialist before a prescription is authorised, in line with UK prescribing requirements.
https://www.cannabiscliniccardiff.co.uk/faq

4. Prescription & Pharmacy Choice
If approved, your prescription is sent to the pharmacy you choose.

5. Payment & Delivery
Your chosen pharmacy contacts you with a payment link. Once payment has been made and your medication is in stock, it’s dispatched by courier.

6. Repeat Prescriptions & Reviews
Repeat prescriptions are requested through the CCC Patient Portal.

The clinic does recommend requesting repeats 1–2 weeks before you run out of medication. Follow-up reviews are required at least every three months, and repeat prescriptions between scheduled reviews are included within their monthly payment plan (£33.33/month)

More information can be found here 😊

Overall, I’ve found the onboarding process to be straightforward and the staff were helpful from the very start 😊🤞💚🍃🌱

The discounts are available through CCC and they sent me the link below to enrol🔥

Assuming with Cannabis Clinic Cardiff you can order on the fly? Split your prescription as many times as you like?

With Alternaleaf I remember having to decide on 100g worth of flower a month in advance. The dispensing can be split but the choosing of strains had to be pre-determined when submitting your repeat for that month. Once script issued - not allowed to make changes.

Is CCC the case whereas you order as and when you like to whichever pharmacy up to your prescribed flower limit for that month/28 day period?

It's a monthly period as opposed to 4 weekly as I understand it and your limits refresh on the 1st of the month so something to consider when working your amounts out(y)

Noted!

Kind of like that predictability. The having to work out 28 days from last order to know when that allowance will reset gets tedious. Nice to know every 1st of the month it’ll be reset. But could see an issue where a hypothetical new strain drops, I’m out of allowance with still a week or two left until the 1st of the month. Just have to be patient and as you say, plan ahead.

But just on my question from before - if hypothetically you have a 100g flower limit, you can have 10 separate prescriptions for 10g at a time. Cannabis Clinic Cardiff allow this and don’t charge per prescription right?

Yes, that’s correct. You can request a new prescription whenever you need one. There is no separate charge for repeat prescriptions, they’re included as part of the clinic’s service 😊

Yes that's correct on the hypothetical and the clinic will not charge you at all for the requests although some pharmacies are free for the first delivery each month and then charge for a second delivery so another one to bare in mind when choosing pharmacies but I find it's rare I pay a postal charge from a pharmacy unless using Botanical Health Dispensary and the prices there more than compensate for the £6 delivery (y)

Starting the onboarding process.

Uploaded my SCR.

Got an email for Dr Dave saying this clinic is only for Mental Health patients.
I mentioned what I was being treated for by all 3 of my previous clinics in my reply but unfortunately i'm not eligible for treatment at Cannabis Clinic Cardiff.
Their website DOES state it's a clinic for Mental Health or that it specialises in prescribing medicine/treatment for patients with MH however to not offer treatment for patients with other conditions seems silly.

It's usually patients with MH history that are getting rejected left and right from all the other clinics.
NEVER would I have envisaged a clinic that won't onboard me for a condition that is WIDELY prescribed for amongst 99% of all other clinics.

Can't really say a bad thing about CCC as I haven't really experienced it. I've been abruptly halted in my tracks and denied entry.
Such a shitty feeling. Don't like that they've made me feel like this. Penalised - almost guilty of something??

Glad that everyone who's with CCC absolutely rave about them and work well for them.
Wish I could have been onboarded but doesn't seem likely.

Good learning exercise for anyone thinking of leaving their current clinic and joining CCC 👎

That sucks…..😥 I’m really sorry to hear that. It must be disappointing to get part way through the onboarding process only to find out that the clinic isn’t able to take you on as a patient.

From what you’ve described, it sounds like CCC has decided that your condition falls outside the scope of the services they currently provide, rather than making a judgement about you personally. That won’t make the experience any less frustrating, especially after you’ve already uploaded your Summary Care Record and started the process. The free assessment is good in that you don’t have to spend £250 up front to add to the disappointment. 😔😔

I’ve had a very positive experience with CCC myself, but I do genuinely sympathise with how you’re feeling. I can understand why you’d be disappointed if you were hoping to join based on the experiences other patients have shared.

Hopefully you’re able to find another clinic that’s a better fit for your condition and can get you onboarded without any further issues. Sending positive vibes your way mate for your MC journey 🤞🙏

Sad to hear this and we probably should make it more clear here in the thread that it is only a Mental Health clinic as the Dr Dave won't prescribe outside his speciality and we have had other pain patients who have had the same experience unfortunately.

Got to say my experience has been a lot more positive. I hope you get in with a decent pharmacy that can support your needs bro!

Dr Dave is a legend I have to say!! Discussed issues with the bloke I didn't discuss previously with any other consultants. Quite frankly the other consultants felt like they were shilling their clinic in comparison to Dr Dave wanting to know more about your ailments and issues.
I have not fully been accepted but received all the links and logins required to put in an order. I should have waited but eagerly submitted my discharge request to Medicann. I did receive an email after my initial consultation saying "assume that you treatment plan will be authorised over the weekend in time for Monday " so I hope that's me unofficially accepted into the clinic.

The monthly limits for Flower, Oil, Vape carts & Flower Extracts all being separate and additional CBD meds not counting towards your limit is absolutely stunning.
Just eager to find out the turnaround times for different pharmacies.

I love reading this and it is my experience with Dr Dave as he genuinely wants to understand as much as possible about the patient and is thorough as opposed to just ticking boxes so good to hear you noticed the difference also and your acceptance just looks a formality now and you'll soon learn what to expect with each pharmacy and may find one suits more than another or is cheaper/better stocked but at least the choices are yours to make now (y)

just uploaded my details etc.. after being accepted now just waiting on dr dave
It starting to look like he's a very busy man with more people seeing Cannabis Clinic Cardiff as a viable option whether thats for the the care the clinic provides it patients with or the access to all medicines and cost savings around different pharmacies but probably a blend of the two reasons , good luck with your consult and hopefully you don't have too long to wait now 🤞

Best thing is - unlike other clinics, a new influx of patients to CCC won’t affect existing patients as dramatically as it does with most clinics and their depleting stock.

At CCC you’re not all eating from the same pie. You guys are at the Supermarket choosing whatever you want!! 🤣

So happy for @Yoreel and hope others have success. I will see my GP for a long overdue check-up/chat after the summer holidays, have my SCR updated and hopefully try again with CCC before 2027 🤞🏼🙏

After really taking the time to sit and read through peoples experiences through this clinic, seems like it genuinely might be the best for my health.

I’m mainly being treated for anxiety & depression, a lot of my daily stresses at the mo are around crappy stock at my current clinic and the daily hoohah 😂 seems like it’s pretty nailed on that I wouldn’t have to worry about that here again.

I’ve been considering therapy/counselling for a while and I’ve tried different forms over the years, I’m not 100% on whether this clinic essentially offers that in a way through the check ins etc? Perhaps not to be taken as a full on therapy session of course, but more like personal? I would love some actual decent human being care really, all of my previous clinics haven’t really offered anything bar box ticking and mild small talk.

Agreed with my wife that it would probably be best if I counted my pennies for a few months and then sign up with these guys, little bit of a hit to begin with but it’ll pay for itself overtime with the ongoing care and access to cheaper meds consistently etc.

Already tried at Auravia, currently waiting on Integro but maybe I just bite the bullet with Medicanns stock-games for a few more months, in the new year I reset with Cardiff Cannabis Clinic. 💪🏻
