I made a new tread and not to take over MC Venues thread

I emailed London Stadium least year about bring MC to Metallica gig this July 2026. Didn't think there be a problem as been to lots of gig and large venues.
Thought London Stadium would be up to speed about medical cannabis but not.

email reply
This is to confirm that you will be able to bring your medication as long as you bring the original prescription and ID.
You will be able to use your medication, as long as you are at the locations outside the building; this does not permit you to vape anywhere else.
The event is an island event, which means the entry points are the bridges; you will then be on the Podium Island, which is inside the venue, but outside the building.

I have said that I have a Access card and walking and standing is limited.
Looking at the website on Access if going to watch West Ham play I can take MC and vape on ground but a music gig no MC.

Thanks @Hazy-Haze
I'm now getting concerned they I may be stop from entering the stadium to see gig. I'm going with my Sister I know she not going to want any hassles or drama.

The London Stadium is physically located in the London Borough of Newham, specifically in Stratford, so planning, local services, and many local authority matters fall within the jurisdiction of Newham Council.

However, the stadium itself is not owned or run by Newham Council. Newham Council was originally a partner in the stadium's post-Olympics ownership structure and invested in the project, but it withdrew from the ownership partnership in 2017. Since then, control has moved to London-wide public bodies, and the stadium is now owned through structures connected to the Greater London Authority rather than Newham Council.

Thanks for the heads up and for challenging the policy.

I’ll be with my daughter so really want to avoid a scene or having to leave.

I think I’ll take a half used vape cart. If it gets confiscated then I can go wmd the week after. I think I’ll have a few brownies just before I go in too.

I’m in similar situation here, going for 2 Metallica concerts in London and wrote email to head of security but didn’t get any reply don’t know what to do. I’m going with my wife and son and don’t want any drama:(

@Sensitel Thanks for post email address.

Sorry but how this a plus! You have to leave the building and Island.
Going to take time get out and get back in going miss lot of the Support & Main gig.

Any other venue you be aloud to medicate in your seat or a medical room.
Mr N Robinson so wrong whats that got to do with anything stadium in none smoking. VAP ? Does he mean medical device.

@Hazy-Haze Any input please.

Yeah the council doesn't run it, but they do license it to be used as a venue, drinks license and probably other things. That's what I was intending you aimed at. Go to who controls their venue license. Then they ask the venue for their side of it. Venue goes oh shit, licensing want to know if we discriminate against disabled people that use legally prescribed MC according to the laws set out for use of prescribed medication. I'd cc a solicitor in as well or at the very least someone from CAB.

As to your current predicament. Edibles or oil. You don't need to vape, so no problems. Best way would be to order some oil from Integro, tell them you are going to a concert and you want to be able to medicate but the venue is run by tards that don't follow the law. Can you have a bottle of oil or some capsules. Poor mans version is you make brownies and eat one before you go or make fudge/tablet/toffee or whatever else type sweet that you like. But if you are consuming via oral means, there won't be an issue any more since you aren't vaping.

Mixed mode works best. Edibles will last longer and the cart can give you some top ups. :)

Hope you have a good night. ;)

I used this email address as they have no access email.

So I wrote out an essay the other night for your predicament and then i deleted it. It would have been like using a nuke to crack a walnut. The gist was Newham council give them a license to operate a venue, a license to serve alcohol and by violating the Equality act they are in breach of those licenses. Use that as the wedge to open the door a little and put both parties on notice.

Find the exact parts of the Equality Act you want to use for this battle, then quote them in the letter. Finalise with something like

Due to the policy conveyed by Neil Robinson on behalf of London Stadium and the obvious discrimination against disabled people and their legal usage of prescription medications, I feel the venue is now in breach of licensing requirements. I think further investigation into other breaches by the venue against vulnerable members would be warranted

I would send a copy to Newham Licensing (the stadium sits in their borough so it's only logical they gave it a license to operate), one to Sadiq Khan (you might as well), one to the Met Police (don't know whether they will investigate it, but it will be recorded), one to your local MP (just nice to give them a heads up and they might be able to add some political clout to it) and one to London Stadium (just so they know and can let their solicitors know they are maybe going to get reamed for breaching a law). Make sure the letter shows all the other recipients. Then let the proverbial shit hit the fan.

Whether you decide to do this, is up to you. This path leads somewhere and it's not going to be quick, nor particularly clean. They might just back down after the first letter (and after their legal counsel tells them stop being dicks before someone bends them over the table and legally butt fucks them). They might double down at which point it might get super messy and at which point you probably take it from being a private matter to one that is on social media, possibly in papers and is very much public. Not ideal given we are a hated community.

This is a toned down version of what I wrote about the other night. But the strategy is the same.

You might want to ask if anyone on here is good at legal letters or can draft something usable. Don't use AI. Do the research yourself and collate it. Then put it all into a word document. Then build the letter and insert those facts into it. Remember to cite the Equality Act in the quotes and stuff it into the footer. If there is any specific case law that pertains to discrimination against disabled people and more specifically the use medication, you have to quote/cite it. I am not a solicitor, so I don't know if there is. But if you can find some, that could be helpful.

You also need to see someone at Citizens Advice and see if they can suggest anything.

Not going do any Nuke before gig. ;)

Need to digests you post Hazy-Haze lot take in.

I have get someone to look over email before I sent to make sure all the fates are correct plus the right party's involved.
Was going to ask Alex F of Grow Conversations Podcast as he would know of a solicitors maybe a cost of a letter sent to London Stadium would highlight the law.

Sadiq Khan I don't think would care or ever get to see email.
AI does work but need proof read and cross check point as it does lie.

Many Thanks Hazy Haze for time and input.

Sadiq Khan is a wild card. He's a complete asshat of a mayor, but he also has a lot of control and he is almost narcissistic about his and London's image. So he might see a potential London image problem angle and decide to head it off early.

AI, well if you use it, fact check everything it generates. Don't treat it as gospel. You basically get one shot at this. if you use AI and it makes a complete fk up of it and you use it, it's game over. For me I would never use AI for anything important. if it's important, then i do my own research and maybe I use it for some of the mundane research like "is there any case law in the UK for discrimination when using prescribed medications", but fact check all results.

Setting off soon. I’m driving so can medicate before going in and will take a cart.

Sun lotion at the ready!

Thank goodness no heatwave, Is meant to clear this afternoon.
Getting the train soon.
End tonight at 22:00!

@Bayo and @Sensitel How did you two get on hope you didn't leave the site! I didn't realizes how large venues was as in capacity there NO way they could police anyone from vaping or medicate. Did see others and smelt flower be it MB or MC.

I got the Access mini bus from Stafford that was very well organized both ways and getting into Stadium. Just need to work on PR with emails.

Hey! Sorry for the delay.

I actually forgot my medication in the rush to leave so just took a big glug of AVB oil before I went i in which had me covered for the night.

Security was lax, I could have taken anything in. Yeah, people vaping and smoking in the standing areas and outside by the food trucks. No one was policing it.

YMMV but next time I’d probably just take my stuff in and deal with security if I had to.
