Clinics Wellford Clinic

Thanks again for the suggestions:)

I sent out a BCC email to clinics last night, briefly explaining my situation as I did above. This morning, airmedclinic emailed, but wasn't feeling the love with the response unfortunately:( This is the response I fear I'm going to get from most clinics, as they often don't have time/care to hear a backstory to what's led blackmarket use and subsuent OD's, when it's Wellford who left me without 90% of medication for multiple periods forcing me back to street drugs. I'm considering reporting Dr Daniela Tonucci to the GMC for the way she messed up my care on numerous occasions, and I'm pretty sure your not supposed to advise patients to seek benzos and tramadol from the black market and advise them on dosages when you know they are struggling to get them from the doctor for relief. Thankfully I'm now on a stable 200mg tramadol script, but I think given the things that happened at that clinic, it's pure stupidity that they discharged me based on a reaction to a agreed short course of medication, all because wellford left me without cannabis during the most stressful month of my life.

Shame about the SRD pens, but I wouldn't mind trying the 4C Labs or other rosin pens, I just really like the SRD's for the price. Right now I just want to get foot back in the door after what seemingly doesn't really feel like my fault, I know once I'm back stable with a clinic, it's far easier to transfer.

In regards to Cardiff Cannabis Clinic, I know I said I don't mind parting with cash but it's the £250 inital consult that's got me hung up, I could deal with the monthly fees just fine. Hopefully I find someone soon as I do miss the consistancy of some strains, it's just finding a clinic/dr to listen to why the last 6 months has gone pair shaped after having my medical cannabis was seized by police and then unsafely ripped of my meds due to a misunderstanding from my clinic who had no empathy and interest in sorting the situation.

I think a lot, of not most clinics will have a similar reaction to be honest, they all see the word and have a blanket fear policy.

The £250 is a lot but unquestionably worth it in my experience. Everyones circumstances are different but i did the maths and found It was actually far cheaper in the long run whilst only being marginly more expensive on the short run.

It's the price you pay to not be funnelled into a pharmacy unfortunately. You wouldn't regret if you moved, like I say you literally won't find one unhappy patient in their thread on here. I can't say that for other clinics.

To give you some extra insight, Dr Dave and Cannabis Clinic Cardiff have told me if I ever go to the GP, to hospital, etc. whatever it is that I should call them immediately because they'll advocate for me. What that means is lets say I've got a stomach issue, the hospital might send me away saying its CHS as a lazy diagnosis. The clinic fight for proper testing to determine whats going on, etc. and they will do all the leg work.

I left Medicann, the final issue was a travel letter they refused to do for me. CCC not only did the travel letter for the meds I had with them, they also covered my meds from Medicann. They are unlike anything else I've ever experienced. Ultimately, I think they may be your best bet with getting back onto medical.

@Privatenameuk is probably the latest CCC recruit we have on MedBud at the moment. PNUK, do you have any words of encouragement to send @Stitch's way?

I’m really sorry to hear everything you’ve been through. It sounds like it’s been an incredibly frustrating few months, especially when you were left without medication and felt like nobody was taking the time to understand the full picture. I can understand why you’re worried that other clinics might respond in the same way.

I recently joined Cannabis Clinic Cardiff (CCC) at the end of last month, and my experience has been really good with Dr Dave. As your medical cannabis is being prescribed for your mental health, I genuinely think they’re a great option. You’ll have a full one-hour consultation with Dr Dave, which gives you plenty of time to talk through your history, previous treatment, what happened over the last six months, and your past cannabis use. I never felt rushed or dismissed.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Airmed. I’ve used that clinic previously. Whilst the staff were okay for the most part, I found their My Dispensary formulary to be quite limited, which was one of the reasons I eventually looked elsewhere.

The £250 initial consultation with CCC is undeniably expensive, but in my opinion it’s been worth it. The level of care from both the doctor and the clinic has been exceptional, and one of the biggest benefits is that they allow you to have your prescriptions sent to different pharmacies. That means you can shop around for the best prices and access a much wider range of products.

Since switching from MEDICANN, I’ve already noticed savings. The strains I’ve been ordering have been cheaper than I’d usually pay, and I’m no longer paying the £4.95 prescription fee that MEDICANN charged. Those savings soon start to add up.

Obviously I can’t guarantee how any clinic will assess your individual circumstances, but based on my own experience, CCC won’t have you feeling like you’re not being listened to. I felt heard from the very first consultation, and that made a huge difference. 🤞

Thanks for your reply man. I actually had dr Dave when I was with my maedica, he was always solid and never messed up my scripts. As much as I don't mind paying slightly more out the gate, £250 is a lot. Do you know if you offer any discounts for people on benefits at all?

Cannabis Clinic Cardiff has a dedicated "Discounted Medications" section on the patient portal that's updated daily with the latest flowers, price reductions and pharmacy offers. It makes it much easier to find deals without having to search multiple formularies yourself.

They also participate in the Grow Access Project ( Grow Access Project). Eligible patients can access discounted Grow Access Project medications through IPS Pharmacy and Pharmacy Space, which offer 10% off the RRP on medications available through the Grow Access Project.

That's good to hear, and I've heard re-writes are 990000%. less of a headache if by the time the script doesn't reach the pharmacy, they are are happy to write for something else. If nothing comes up slightly cheaper, I might have to just get my foot back in the door as his clinic is the only one that specifics "substance issues issues" (aka being left without meds not just by your NHS GP but private clinician to, giving you not option to relapse. After you've been with a clinic for a while, I'm 99% the transfer issue is a lot more seamless even with providing the SCR. But as much as I'd love to get back on medical, I have a tear drop at the idea of £250 initial consult fee 😅

I'm so back and forth on it at the moment between the issues I had between Mamedica® and Wellford has kind of put me of fmediacal for life, but I do miss Sourdough and a select few strains and SRD vape carts, that ready did improve my quality of life. I'm just not sure they improved it by £255 for a inital consult even though Daves a really nice chap. I like the fact they help advocate with any issues that arrise with it, NHS or otherwise. Would have probably not got it on my record had I actually been a clinic that put the effort in to rectftfiyng that. I think it's just when I'm already spending so much on meds, £255 is a lot to fork out oat once, but I really do want to consider it and if anyone else has opinions for people inn my situations who's been screwed by Wellford, Dave Devaney (owner, obsessed with profits) and Dr Daniela Tonucci, I'd really love your suggestions.

The biggest issues is the OD's since being ripped of MC, but given a decent appointment with a understanding clinician, I feel I'd be able to sufficently explain the situation.

I completely get where you’re coming from. £250 is a lot of money 💷😭😥

I ended up looking at it as an investment rather than just paying for an appointment. You get a full hour with Dr Dave, you never feel rushed, and he actually takes the time to listen and understand your history instead of trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible. Plus, it's an added bonus that you've had Dr Dave previously at Mamedica.

I also found it worked out better financially in the long run. Being able to have my prescriptions sent to different pharmacies means I can shop around for the best prices, access discounted products, and I’m not limited to one formulary. Depending on how often you order, those savings can soon start to make up for the initial consultation fee.

What really stood out to me was feeling supported. If there are issues with prescriptions or anything else, the clinic actually helps rather than leaving you to deal with it on your own. After having mixed experiences elsewhere, that made a big difference.

At the end of the day only you can decide if it’s worth it, but if medical cannabis genuinely improved your quality of life before, I’d be looking at the bigger picture rather than just the £250. For me, I haven’t regretted it. 💚🌱🍃🤞

Damn yeah you really have got me there, especially as I've seen him before. When I was at MaMedica before my phsyical health problems, he google'd my private therapy place and was like, oh, its for addiction? And I was like nah, they deal with PTSD mostly to so so I don't know if he has a thing against prescribing people that have had OD's in the past.

If I was technically with a clinic for however long, like 3-6 months, it shouldn't be that hard to transfer over to a new clinic if I'm thinking right to? I've got more than enough support from health professionals around me saying they'd rather me on MC than benzos or opiates, it's just finding the right clinicians and I got a feeling as soon as I submit my SCR to alterneaf they are just going to flat out deny it.

I can only speak from my own experience, but in my opinion Cannabis Clinic Cardiff has been the best clinic I’ve used for mental health. One of the main reasons is bc Dr Dave is a psychiatrist. I found the consultation very relaxed and conversational. He didn’t make me feel awkward or judged when discussing my mental health history, and I felt I had the time to explain everything properly.

If you’ve already been prescribed medical cannabis and have an established treatment history, transferring between clinics is generally more straightforward than applying as a brand-new patient. You’ll still need to meet the new clinic’s prescribing criteria and they’ll review your medical records, but having previous prescriptions can help provide additional clinical context.

Ultimately, every clinic has its own prescribing policies and each clinician makes decisions based on your individual circumstances, so nobody can guarantee you’ll be accepted. From my own experience, though, I found CCC to be approachable, understanding, and willing to have an open discussion about my history rather than making assumptions.

Thanks man:) I just gave them a call and and had a really nice lady pickup and I just tried to squeeze a brief explanation of the fact that I've been with 3 clinics, let down everytime, and when they do I end up back on benzos to cope which can be proven in paperwork and I have lots people in my care team that would rather me on MC than street drugs. I did explain I'm on both UC and PIP and is there anything they could do about the initial cost, as the repeat cost is like £10 extra from Wellfords, but if £250 is what it takes to get a doctor to listen and dispense what I need on time I guess I might just have to. The £250 fee is just once right, not yearly? If I can dispense to any pharmacy, get pretty much any strain I want/need, might just have to be a cost I have to swallow but it's a big one at that. Because that was literally teh quality of standard I came to expect from Wellford for £20 and is why I couldn't stop recommending them to people, but greed just took over.

Wish they had a access scheme but I guess most of thos have crap service, apart from Alternaleaf from what I see. But they didn't even really want a converstation with ne on the phone, they were like just submit your SCR which without context, I wouldn't expect a clinician to just prescribe not knowing the backstory to OD's from being left without meds, as I've even had NHS GP's mess my tramadol scripts up several times over the course of 6 months which has caused additional meltdowns when I haven't had MC either. So all these things can just be attributed to non stability of getting my meds on time.

Hopefully CCC can possibly do a small deal for the initial consult, because from everything I've heard from them, they are worth it.

Awesome! bet you spoke to Celyn! she's lovely :)

That's correct, its £250 at your first appt as a one off cost. then its £33.33pm following that. They do allow you to bulk pay that at £99.99 every quarter.

I'll be curious to see if they help with that first cost some how.

I had a response today and she was lovely, I even called her back a hour later saying look I'd really like some sort of discount off being on PIP and UC but if you can't, can I just get booked in for an appointment. With the £250 one off followed by the £30 monthly repeat fee, I'm just going to have to write it off at this point as a bill that's going to have to be paid lol. I miss the MaMedicas access scheme, but deftianely don't miss waiting over 3 weeks after paying £850 for 100gs of Sourdough lol, and then being discharged when I showed them up on Social Media for it. It really baffles me how they are allowed to get away with so much neglect to sometimes seriously ill patients, causing them harm by leaving them without meds.

I might give alternaeaf a little shot with how cheap it is and just submit my SCR and see what they say to it, and the selection at Montu is pretty damn good. But I do like the fact that Dave prescribes pretty much any product to any phamrqacy, and that's the constancy I need back like I had at Wellford Clinic when Iqra had my scripts on point ever time.

I won't keep banging the same drum about them being worth it, but hopefully they can offer some kind of solution for you.

You do see some horror stories of how patients are treated, unfortunately it seems to just be the way MC operates sometimes.

If you're really concerned about CCCs pricing and you're also considering Alternaleaf for the price, then I would throw Auravia into the mix.

You can order any product from any pharmacy much like you can at Cannabis Clinic Cardiff and it's currently free for the first 500 patients. It may be a way to get CCC products at an Alternaleaf price.

They're new and a few people have recent switched across but so far it so good it seems.

Anyone with Wellford currently?

I have a consultation with them on Monday as a transferring patient. Google AI seems adamant that Wellford have a strict 60g flower limit per month?

Reading above it seems people do have higher but can anyone who’s had smooth sailing (if any) with Wellford be willing to confirm if they do prescribe 120g+ of flower?

60g is not sufficient for me and so don’t want to waste anyone’s time with a consultation 👍🏻

It's getting confused.

It's referencing the main clinic page from MedBud as the source of that information but if you look, it's pulling the airmed 60g cap, and because Wellfords is mentioned in the same page its lumping them together.

I used to be with them, had a terrible time and left after they told me I could only have therismos products on a rewrite. I hope your appt goes well and you have a better time than I did, but for me and the experience I had, they're hands down the worst clinic in the country. Not to mention they're rich people priority package is quite frankly disgusting.

I am just one person though and plenty of people are with them so it can't be all bad. So definitely don't let my experience get in the way of your plans mate.

I wouldn't worry about amount, I was prescribed 100gs a month by Dr Daniela Tonucci of 31% and she even advised me of what dosages to use blackmarket diazepam and tramadol for breakthrough pain, before seemingly seeing it on my record and then discharging me. They are money hungry though and patient care is very poor.

They also left me with a police record by not rectifying the issues with police about my seized flower.
